Sony is gearing up for its latest Days of Play sale, featuring the first official price reduction for the PS5 Pro. The console’s price will drop by $50 to $650 in the US, and the sale will run from May 28 to June 11.
Although the PS5 Pro may have been available at a lower price elsewhere, this is the first time Sony has officially discounted it on its own storefront. Retail partners will match the discount, making it an excellent opportunity to purchase the console. If you don’t already own a PS5 or a powerful gaming PC and can afford the Pro, it’s the best way to experience PlayStation. We gave it a score of 88 in our review, with the only drawbacks being its price and the lack of a built-in disc drive.
Other console discounts are available in the US and Canada as part of the sale. Bundles including the standard PS5 or Digital Edition with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 start at $400/$510 CAD (for the Digital Edition), representing a savings of $120/$160 CAD compared to purchasing them separately. The PS5 standard and digital versions will also be on sale in Europe and Asia, starting at €400/£340/¥65,980.
It’s worth noting that Sony has considered increasing the prices of PS5 hardware due to tariffs. Microsoft recently increased the prices of Xbox consoles for the same reason. If you’ve been hesitant to purchase a PS5 or PS5 Pro, now might be the ideal time to do so.
In addition to console discounts, accessories will also be on sale during the Days of Play sale. You can expect savings on the PlayStation VR2 ($50 off), PlayStation VR2 and Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle ($50 off), Pulse Explore earbuds ($30 off), DualSense Edge controller ($30 off), PlayStation Access controller ($20 off), and the DualSense controller ($20 off). Furthermore, PS5 console covers and external storage drives will receive price cuts.
PS5 games will also be available at discounted prices. MLB The Show 25, Astro Bot, and Lego Horizon Adventures are among the many first-party games that will be on sale. If you haven’t played The Last of Us Part II and don’t want to wait for HBO’s adaptation to continue after the season finale, you might want to purchase the remastered edition of the game, which will be included in the sale.
Hundreds of other games will be featured in the sale, including several Assassin’s Creed titles, Grand Theft Auto V, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Balatro. Additionally, movies will be on sale through Sony Pictures Core.
Certain PlayStation Plus plans will be 33 percent off for new subscribers. Upgrading to the Extra or Premium tiers may cost 33 percent less than usual as well. While this may not be ideal for long-term PS Plus members who want to add another year or two to their subscription (especially after recent price increases in several regions), it’s a common practice for companies to offer discounts to new subscribers to boost their numbers.
