The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is set to receive a significant upgrade to its lock screen, with the integration of Gemini Live into the Now Bar.
Samsung has made a concerted effort to integrate Gemini into the Galaxy S25 series, also making it the default voice assistant over Bixby, with the goal of enhancing the overall user experience.
Furthermore, the devices are now receiving even deeper integration with Gemini, as the newly introduced Now Bar feature on the Galaxy S25, which is part of the One UI 7 update, will support Gemini Live. This new integration is expected to provide a more seamless experience for users, allowing them to view Gemini Live’s status and pause or resume conversations directly from the lock screen. A user, @TechA7mad, shared a post on X, revealing that they had spotted this feature on their Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is running Google app version 16.6.28.ve.arm64. The user also shared screenshots of the Now Bar displaying Gemini Live’s status, indicating whether it is actively listening or on hold.

While it is unclear whether this new integration is widely available, its presence on consumer devices suggests that it may be in a fairly broad release phase. It remains to be seen whether the company will expand this integration to other older Galaxy devices that are eligible for the One UI 7 update.
