Samsung introduced numerous new features, enhancements, and customizable options with the release of One UI 7, aiming to improve the overall user experience. However, alongside these updates, the company also discontinued the ability to customize lock screen notifications through LockStar.
LockStar, a module within the Good Lock app, previously allowed users to personalize their lock screen notifications in various ways. This module offered multiple customization options, including adjusting the transparency, size, color, and type of notifications, enabling users to create a unique lock screen appearance. Recently, Good Lock’s LockStar received support for One UI 7, complete with exciting new features.
Notably, with the introduction of the Android 15-based One UI 7, Samsung removed the feature for customized lock screen notifications, as reported by numerous users. Despite installing the LockStar module, changes to notification appearance on the lock screen, such as transparency or size adjustments, would not be applied.
Following reports from multiple Galaxy users, Samsung has confirmed that notification customization is no longer supported in the LockStar app with One UI 7. It is possible that Samsung may reinstate this feature in a future update, given the demand from users.
