Indeed, Samsung’s latest software skin, One UI 7, which runs on top of Android 15, has introduced numerous enhancements and integrated new features that provide users with a more interactive experience. Meanwhile, a recent report suggests that the new software is altering the way users interact with certain apps on the Galaxy Z Flip’s cover screen.
One UI 7 Enhances the Convenience of Galaxy Z Flip Cover DisplaySubstantially, Samsung has imposed limitations on certain apps that can only run on the cover screen of its Flip folding smartphones, starting with the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 6. To run or add more apps, users must navigate through a complicated process of configuring the Good Lock’s suitable module.
However, according to reports from Android Central, One UI 7 streamlines this process by introducing a new button under the “Apps allowed on the cover screen” settings. This button enables users to run additional apps on their Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Flip 6’s cover screen by simply downloading and installing the MultiStar module.

Moreover, One UI 7 improves the usability of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Flip 6’s cover display with the addition of this new button, making it more convenient for users to access their favorite apps.
Currently, the One UI 7 beta build is available for Galaxy Z Flip 6 owners. It will be interesting to see how Samsung optimizes apps on the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is rumored to feature a larger cover screen.
