Introduction to Side Quest

Side Quest, initially known as Mere Mortals, is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on March 26. This series is a spin-off and expansion of the comedy show Mythic Quest, which revolves around a video game studio developing a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) of the same name. All four episodes of Side Quest will be available on the streaming service on the same day the season four finale of Mythic Quest is released. The show will delve into the lives of the studio’s employees, as well as the players and fans affected by the Mythic Quest game.

Show Format and Production

Side Quest will adopt an anthology format, featuring a different cast of actors in leading roles for each episode. The series was created by Mythic Quest writers Ashly Burch, John Howell Harris, and Katie McElhenney, who also served as executive producers. Notably, Burch plays the character Rachel in the original series. Additionally, Charlie Day, Megan Ganz, and Rob McElhenney, the creators of Mythic Quest, were involved as executive producers for the spin-off. The show was produced by Lionsgate, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Ubisoft for Apple TV+.
