Lucid Motors is set to restart customer deliveries of its all-new, all-electric Gravity SUV by the end of April. This milestone is crucial for Lucid, as the company’s success depends on its ability to offer vehicles that appeal to American drivers.
The Gravity is Lucid’s second model and its first SUV, following the launch of the Lucid Air sedan series. The company began taking orders for the seven-seater SUV in November 2024 and initiated initial deliveries to employees, friends, and family in December.
According to Marc Winterhoff, Lucid’s interim CEO, “We have nearly completed building the vehicles needed for our studios and test drives. By the end of April, we will resume delivering the Gravity to customers.” Winterhoff made this announcement on Thursday evening at a brand activation event in New York City.
Lucid employees at the event, which featured a surprise performance by Cautious Clay, confirmed that the company is currently ramping up production of the Gravity at its factory in Casa Grande, Arizona. The U.S.-based factory is expected to be beneficial for the EV startup, especially considering President Donald Trump’s new 25% auto tariffs.
The Lucid Gravity, priced at $94,900, has an official EPA range estimate of 450 miles and boasts the performance of a sports car. The company attributes this to its advanced battery technology, which enables a denser and lighter-weight battery that delivers exceptional performance.
As Winterhoff emphasized, “With the Lucid Gravity, you don’t have to make any compromises – you can have it all.”
