HyperX has unveiled a new wireless headset capable of delivering up to 200 hours of uninterrupted music on a single charge, equivalent to over a week of continuous playback. The Cloud III S serves as a successor to the 2023 original wireless headset, with the added feature of Bluetooth audio. When utilizing Bluetooth, the robust battery life enables up to 200 hours of listening time.
This duration is reduced to approximately 120 hours when audio is streamed via a 2.4GHz wireless connection. Similar to its predecessor, the headphones come with a USB dongle for 2.4GHz connectivity. However, they can also connect without a dongle to certain newer HP Omen gaming laptops.
Beyond its extended battery life, the Cloud III S introduces another key innovation: full customizability through magnetic ear plates. These plates are 3D-printed on demand, a technology HyperX has been exploring for some time. Users can design and purchase these customized 3D-printed ear plates directly from HyperX, although this option is currently limited to select countries.
The headset also features a removable boom mic, convenient for travel, but this does not compromise its ability to handle calls or gaming communications. A backup omni-directional mic is included, adding to the headset’s appeal.
The HyperX Cloud III S is slated to be available in stores starting May, with pricing details to be confirmed later. For context, the original Cloud III was launched at $170. The new headset will be offered in either an all-black or black and red color scheme.
