Honda, along with its luxury brand Acura, is poised to become the latest addition to the expanding list of automakers that will offer their electric vehicle (EV) owners access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network across North America.

Commencing in June, the owners of Honda’s Prologue and Acura’s ZDX electric vehicles will have the capability to charge their vehicles at Tesla’s charging stations. Since these EV models are equipped with CCS (Combined Charging System) charging ports, which differ from the charging technology utilized by Tesla, owners will be required to acquire Honda-approved fast-charging adapters from authorized dealerships. As of now, Honda has not disclosed the pricing details for these adapters.

According to Honda, the owners of Prologue and ZDX models will receive notifications through the HondaLink and Acura EV applications once the adapters are available for purchase. Additionally, these apps will provide users with the locations of authorized Tesla Supercharger stations.

In 2023, Honda entered into an agreement to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS). At that time, the company announced plans to launch a new EV model in 2025, which will be built in accordance with the NACS standard.

TechCrunch has contacted Honda to obtain an updated timeline regarding this development. Currently, several other prominent automakers, including Ford, General Motors, Lucid, Rivian, and more, have already secured access to Tesla’s Supercharger network for their customers.
