Samsung introduced its groundbreaking Galaxy Watch 4 series in 2021, which brought numerous significant changes and features. Although the series received the latest software update, One UI 6 Watch, many users have reported experiencing several bugs and issues after installing the update.
The Galaxy Watch 4 series (Bluetooth variants) received the latest Wear OS 5-based One UI 6 Watch update in December 2024, while the update was rolled out to LTE models for other users two weeks ago.
One UI 6 Watch Update Introduces Flickering, AOD, Wrist Detection, Screen Tint, and GPS Issues to Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic
Following the installation of the update, the internet was flooded with reports of various bugs and issues, including a pink or orange screen and display issues. SamLover also examined the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and discovered AOD and Wrist Detection issues after the One UI 6 Watch update.
Galaxy Watch 4 Experiences Pink and Orange Screen Issue:
A Galaxy Watch 4 Classic user reported on the community page that the latest One UI watch update caused the entire screen to turn pink with a thin white line at the top, resulting in disappointment and hindered usability. The user stated:
“Approximately 1 year and 3 months after purchasing my Galaxy Watch 4, I installed a recent software update as prompted. However, following this update, the display of my watch suddenly turned pink, accompanied by a thin white line at the top. This issue severely hampers the usability and functionality of the device.”

The user further stated that when they visited Samsung’s service center for assistance, they were charged Rs.6000.
Other users (users 1 and 2) reported that their Watch 4’s screen entirely turned orange in color after the One UI 6 Watch update was installed. However, they have not received any solution to fix this issue.

Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (LTE) AOD Not Working:
A user reported that after installing the One UI 6 Watch update, their Galaxy Watch 4 Classic LTE’s AOD suddenly stopped working.
Wrist Detection Not Working on Galaxy Watch 4 After One UI 6 Watch Update:
Another report stated that the latest One UI 6 Watch update’s installation on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (LTE) broke the wrist detection feature, and even after resetting the watch, it did not work:
“After updating to One UI 6 Watch, my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic LTE is no longer detecting my wrist properly. I already tried resetting the watch, but the issue persists.”
Galaxy Watch 4 Classic LTE Battery Drain After One UI 6 Watch:
The One UI 6 Watch update is also causing a severe battery drain issue. A report from a user via the community page stated that after updating the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic LTE to the One UI 6 Watch, a sudden and noticeable battery drain was noticed. The battery would drop from 100% to 80% in just 1-2 hours when not in use and even faster when using the watch to its full potential.
One UI 6 Watch for Galaxy Watch 4 Screen Flickering:
Screen flickering was also reported after updating to the One UI 6 Watch update. A user who owns the Galaxy Watch 4 Wi-Fi model posted a video showing that the Galaxy Watch 4’s screen was continuously flickering when kept on charging and warming as well.
