The rollout of Samsung’s February 2025 security update is ongoing, with the majority of devices having received it so far. Following its release for the Galaxy Tab S8 series in South Korea a few days ago, the company is now expanding the update to 8th-generation tablets in European countries.
A notable aspect of this update is that the February 2025 security patch for the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra is available for both Wi-Fi and 5G models, identifiable by their respective build numbers, which are as follows:
- Tab S8 (Wi-Fi): X700XXS9CYB1, X800XXS9CYB1, and X900XXS9CYB1
- Tab S8 (5G): X706BXXS9CYB1, X806BXXS9CYB1, and X906BXXS9CYB1
Although the update is relatively minor, it does not introduce any significant new features or changes. However, it does address a multitude of security vulnerabilities from previous versions, aiming to provide a safer and more secure user experience while protecting the device’s overall security and core functionality from potential threats.
Furthermore, the update enhances system stability, optimizes performance, and applies the latest security patches, all contributing to a smoother, more stable, and optimized user experience.
Currently, the February 2025 security update for the Galaxy Tab S8 series is live in South Korea and Europe. As a result, users can now download the latest version on their devices as it becomes available.
