Update on YouTube TV and Paramount Channels
YouTube TV has successfully negotiated a deal with Paramount, ensuring uninterrupted access to various channels for its subscribers, including CBS, CBS Sports, and Nickelodeon. Earlier in the week, YouTube TV had announced in a blog post that Paramount content would be removed from its platform as of February 13, citing the inability to reach a “fair agreement”. However, the deadline was later extended, and on Saturday night, YouTube TV announced that a deal had been reached, allowing subscribers to continue accessing the channels without interruption.
In a recent blog post and on X, YouTube TV expressed satisfaction with the agreement, stating: “We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal to continue carrying Paramount channels, including CBS, CBS Sports, Nickelodeon, and more.” The deal ensures that YouTube TV will maintain its offering of over 100 channels and add-ons, including Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, and will provide more user choices in the future. YouTube TV appreciates the patience of its subscribers during the negotiations, which were conducted on their behalf. Additionally, BET+ will remain available to subscribers.
