This week’s ID@Xbox indie showcase revealed release dates for several upcoming games that have caught our attention. Notably, 33 Immortals, a game where you can gather up to 32 friends to attempt an escape from hell, is scheduled for release next month. Additionally, the escape room-style game Blue Prince is set to arrive in April, while the quirky shooter Revenge of the Savage Planet will follow in May. All three games will be available on Game Pass from their launch dates.
33 Immortals
Prepare to embark on a hellish adventure in 33 Immortals, which Engadget’s Mat Smith previewed at Summer Game Fest 2023. This multiplayer roguelike top-down action game draws inspiration from Dante’s Inferno and features charmingly retro graphics reminiscent of old-school animation. The game supports up to 33 players per 25-minute raid, but be warned: the difficulty doesn’t scale down for smaller squads, so you may need all 32 of your friends to escape hell.
33 Immortals is set to arrive in Early Access on March 18 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. It will be available on Game Pass from day one.
Blue Prince
Meanwhile, Blue Prince offers a unique puzzling experience where you’re dropped into a vast mansion with a room configuration that changes daily. Your goal is to navigate through the 44 available rooms, using a limited number of movements to find the mysterious 45th room and claim your inheritance. If you fail to find it before using up all your turns, the inheritance will remain elusive.
As Engadget’s Jessica Conditt wrote in our preview, “Blue Prince feels like a build-your-own escape room wrapped up in a strategy game and tied together with home-renovation sim twine… Even though it supports a broad mix of unrelated concepts, Blue Prince feels a lot like home. And it will be, once I find that 46th room.”
Blue Prince is scheduled for release on April 10 and will be available on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It will be a day-one title for both Xbox Game Pass and the PS Plus Game Catalog.
Revenge of the Savage Planet
Slightly later, Raccoon Logic’s Revenge of the Savage Planet will crash land onto the scene. This sequel to 2020’s Journey to the Savage Planet offers another satirical adventure shooter experience, complete with an array of wacky new gadgets to take down hostile creatures. These include a goo cannon for tripping up enemies, a whip inspired by Devo, a grapple for swinging across chasms, and a lasso to capture creatures, though hopefully not too much like Pokémon.
Revenge of the Savage Planet is set to launch on PC, PS5/4, and Xbox Series X/S on May 1. It will be available on Game Pass from day one.
