Apple Vision Pro to Receive Apple Intelligence Features in April
The rumors have been confirmed: Apple has announced that the Vision Pro will be getting Apple Intelligence features in April, along with the release of visionOS 2.4. For developers who can’t wait, a beta version is being rolled out today. As seen on other devices, the rollout of Apple Intelligence on the Vision Pro will start with basic features, including Writing Tools, Image Playground, and Genmoji. These features will enable users to summarize, rewrite, and proofread text, generate text with ChatGPT, create AI-generated images, and build custom AI-generated emojis and stickers.

Expansion of Apple Intelligence Capabilities
It was only a matter of time before Apple brought Apple Intelligence to the Vision Pro, given that it’s already available on current Macs running the M1 chip. The Vision Pro’s M2 hardware is more than capable of supporting Apple Intelligence, which will initially only support English but will expand to include more languages and AI features throughout the year. Additionally, the Vision Pro will receive other minor Apple Intelligence capabilities, such as Priority Notifications and summaries, Smart Reply in Mail and Messages, and the ability to create Memory Movies in Photos.

New Apps and Tweaks for Enhanced User Experience
To make the Vision Pro more useful, Apple is introducing several new apps and tweaks. A new Spatial Gallery app, exclusive to the Vision Pro, will showcase spatial videos, photos, and panoramas from Apple, providing another way to enjoy the headset’s immersive capabilities. The app will feature "stories and experiences" from brands like Red Bull, as well as behind-the-scenes material from Apple shows like Severance and Shrinking. Furthermore, a new Apple Vision Pro app for iPhone will allow users to manage their headset experience remotely, adding apps and games, exploring content, and receiving notifications about new content drops.

Enhanced Guest User Mode and Content Discovery
The introduction of a standalone mobile Vision Pro app is a significant step towards making the platform more consumer-friendly. This move is reminiscent of Meta’s similar offering for its headsets. Apple is also improving Guest User mode with visionOS 2.4, allowing headset owners to start guest sessions remotely, choose which apps are available to guests, and initiate AirPlay mirroring remotely. Previously, this process required putting on the Vision Pro, enabling Guest User mode, and then passing it to someone else. These tweaks demonstrate Apple’s efforts to make the Vision Pro more accessible and user-friendly, paving the way for a potentially more affordable headset in the future.
