On Wednesday, Victoria’s Secret released a brief statement on its website, acknowledging the issue. The problems began on Monday, with multiple users reporting difficulties in accessing the Victoria’s Secret website.
In response to inquiries from TechCrunch, a Victoria’s Secret spokesperson stated, “We promptly activated our response protocols, engaged third-party experts, and took down our website and certain in-store services as a precautionary measure.” However, the spokesperson declined to provide their name or disclose the specifics of the cybersecurity incident.
The spokesperson added, “We are working diligently to restore operations quickly and securely.” The company has confirmed that its physical stores remain open for business.
Following the news of the security incident, Victoria’s Secret’s stock price fell by 7%.
