As the future of TikTok in the United States remains uncertain, the tech giant has begun quietly testing a new platform called “TikTok for Artists” that aims to assist artists in building their careers, as confirmed by the company to TechCrunch. This platform will offer tools to help artists promote their music, track performance metrics, and engage with their fans.

Currently, the platform is being tested in several countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, and Indonesia, with plans to expand to additional markets in the future as part of a wider rollout.

The initial report of the platform’s launch was made by Music Ally.

According to the TikTok for Artists website, artists will be able to utilize the platform to create campaigns for their upcoming releases and promote them on the social network. They can also launch engagement and monetization campaigns, such as album campaigns to drive pre-saves on Spotify and Apple Music or exclusive merchandise drops.

Artists will also have access to performance data, allowing them to see how their posts and songs are performing. Additionally, they will be able to learn more about their fans, including the countries where most of their listeners are from.

The platform will also enable artists to highlight fan videos and build their community. Selected fan videos will be featured in a “Music Tab Fan Spotlight” section on the artist’s profile.

TikTok plans to share more information about the platform in the coming weeks.

Given the significant role the platform plays in driving music trends and viral songs, it is logical for the company to introduce a dedicated space to help artists promote their content and engage with their fans more effectively. The platform could also help artists expand their reach and grow their audience.

It is worth noting that the launch of “TikTok for Artists” comes months after ByteDance decided to shut down TikTok Music, a music streaming service that was being tested in several countries. At the time, the company stated that it decided to retire the service in order to focus on its goal of furthering TikTok’s role in driving music listening and value on music streaming services.
