A recent screening of the first two Happy Death Day films featured an announcement from star Jessica Rothe and director Christopher Landon, confirming that Universal is moving forward with another installment in the franchise.
[Bloody-Disgusting]Avengers: Doomsday
In an interview with Extra, Channing Tatum expressed uncertainty about his involvement in Avengers: Doomsday, stating that he was only guaranteed a chair on set.
Personally, all I was guaranteed was a chair. They said that I have a chair, and I can at least watch the movie from the chair. You know, and it was just my name, it wasn’t exactly Gambit. So, I work in the world of just like, of binary yes or no’s, and I’ve only been guaranteed so far a chair to watch the movie in, so that’s where I’m at.
Meanwhile, Alan Cumming discussed his return as Nightcrawler in an episode of Today With Jenna and Friends.
Isn’t that nuts? It’s 23 years since I was a superhero…I’ve had some make-up tests already. Actually, what’s great about it was that it was about four-and-a-half to five hours before [to apply], but now it’s only 90 minutes. Before, all of the tattoos were done by hand because they hadn’t decided on them before we started filming, and now they’re on this little thing–they stick on. It’s a game-changer. So, I’m going back to being a 60-year-old superhero.
Avatar: Fire and Ash
In an interview with Empire Magazine, VFX supervisor Richard Baneham revealed that Payakan, the space whale, will play a significant role in Avatar: Fire and Ash.
He’s turned out to be one of the most popular characters. The reaction emboldened us to go forward and play Payakan at the very highest level.
Contagion 2
During his appearance on the One Decision podcast, Steven Soderbergh shared that he and Scott Z. Burns have developed some terrifying ideas for a Contagion sequel, but are hesitant to share them due to concerns about social responsibility.
[We’ve] come up with some terrifying ideas. There would have to be, I think, a plot that doesn’t feel predictable. And that’s the trick – when you’re working on any story, the ending needs to be both surprising and inevitable. The fun of it is figuring out how to do those two things……I don’t want to torture people. There are scenarios that you could come up with that I would categorize as irresponsible; you know, that I would go, ‘That’s a big idea, but I’m not sure I want to put that idea out there, frankly.’ I do think about that.
Oswald: Down the Rabbit Hole
According to Bloody-Disgusting, the horror film Oswald: Down the Rabbit Hole has been delayed due to an unsatisfactory script, but writer-director Lilton Stewart III is using the delay to revise and improve the script.
I recently got inspired by an idea that will definitely make the story tighter and flesh out some of the unanswered questions I was leaving for the sequel. Audiences will still have questions leading into the next chapter of the story, but will feel more satisfied at the conclusion of the first film.
Peacemaker/The Last Of Us/It: Welcome to Derry
Max has released a trailer for its 2025 programming lineup, featuring new footage from It, The Last of Us, and Peacemaker season 2. James Gunn also confirmed the August 21 premiere date for Peacemaker on Twitter.

Showtime has released a trailer for the third season finale of Yellowjackets, titled “Full Circle.”
