The first week of June is shaping up to be an exciting time for gamers, with the highly anticipated release of the Nintendo Switch 2 and a plethora of gaming showcases as part of Summer Game Fest. In addition to the two major events, Summer Game Fest Live and the Xbox Games Showcase, there are several other showcases scheduled, including the popular Day of the Devs.
It’s possible that Nintendo and Sony may also hold their own events, such as a Direct or State of Play, in the coming weeks. Furthermore, Ubisoft has yet to announce a Forward event for this year, possibly due to the delays of several of its major games. The absence of a Devolver Direct announcement has also left fans wondering if they will get to see updates on anticipated titles like Baby Steps and Skate Story.
Currently, Summer Game Fest is set to take place from June 6 to June 8. With E3 no longer in the picture, Summer Game Fest has become the premier event for gaming announcements and updates, aside from Gamescom in August.
We will continue to update this preview as more information becomes available, including additional events and streaming details. In the meantime, here’s a breakdown of what to expect and how to watch Summer Game Fest 2025.
Engadget will be attending the in-person portion of Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, which is reserved for media and creators. We will provide hands-on impressions of many of the games featured during SGF Live.
However, most people will be following the events from home. To help with that, we’ve put together a guide on how to watch Summer Game Fest 2025 and what to expect from the various showcases.
