The upcoming Star Wars projects will be showcased at Star Wars Celebration Japan. Although the event’s full schedule has not been revealed, four major panels have been announced, providing insight into the franchise’s immediate future. The event is set to take place from April 18-20.

The future of the franchise begins with The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is scheduled for release in summer 2026. Directed by Jon Favreau, the project has already completed filming, and fans can expect to see trailers and learn more about the story’s journey to the big screen. This panel will take place on Friday, April 18, potentially as the event’s first panel. It’s possible that Lucasfilm may also release a trailer online around the same time.

On Saturday, April 19, the focus shifts to television with panels on Andor and Ahsoka. With Andor season two premiering just days later, the panel will likely feature cast and crew members, as well as a potential screening of an episode. As for Ahsoka, creator Dave Filoni will likely share more information about season two, including a possible release date.

Sunday, April 20, will see a panel on Star Wars Visions season three. The animated anthology series has been a highlight of the Star Wars franchise in recent years, and fans are eager to learn about the participating animation studios and the topics they will explore.

These four panels will require reservations to attend (more information can be found here). However, Lucasfilm has confirmed that more panel announcements are forthcoming. Two significant questions remain: will there be a panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and will Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy discuss the future of the franchise beyond The Mandalorian and Grogu? Kennedy had previously mentioned Shawn Levy’s film as a potential next project, and Celebration could be the ideal platform for an announcement.

In the lead-up to Celebration, io9 will provide more coverage, including updates from the convention itself.
