Miles Morales is making a comeback to the big screen, but the wait will be a bit longer than initially expected. The third installment in Sony’s award-winning animated series, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, was initially slated for a 2024 release. However, after its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, was released, the film was removed from the calendar. Now, it’s been officially announced that the film will hit theaters on June 4, 2027.

A teaser trailer revealed the news at CinemaCon 2025, featuring a stunning array of colors and shapes reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The trailer showcased images and audio from the previous two films, followed by a glimpse of the new film, including Miles battling the Prowler and the Spot, and entering a mysterious black area through a yellow hole.

According to producer Phil Lord and directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, Beyond will be more ambitious and daring than the first two films, introducing new styles and innovations. The story will pick up exactly where the previous film left off.

Essentially, the filmmakers have assured fans that the lengthy delay was necessary and well worth it. The anticipation is building, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
