Naughty Dog has introduced a new bundle, The Last of Us Complete, which includes the latest editions of both award-winning games for the PlayStation 5. This bundle was announced for a digital price of $100, available now. A physical collector’s edition is now available for pre-order at $110, with an expected release date of July 10.
The original game from 2013 underwent remastering for the PS4 just a year after its release. Later, it received a complete remake and rebranding as The Last of Us Part I for the PS5. Following this, Naughty Dog proceeded to remaster the 2020 sequel, resulting in The Last of Us Part II Remastered . The Part II project offered a $10 upgrade, featuring new content and enhanced graphics. However, the Part I remake drew criticism from some fans due to its $70 price tag.
The timing of this new bundle announcement coincides with the premiere of the TV adaptation’s second season on April 13. The series has already been confirmed for a third season. Given the “Complete” designation of the bundle and a recent interview with creator Neil Druckman, it appears that hopes for a third installment of the game may be dashed. On the bright side, this means that Complete should indeed be the last time fans need to purchase the titles, at least until the release of the PlayStation 6.
