Silksong, the highly anticipated sequel to 2017’s Hollow Knight, is slated for release later this year, as revealed in a brief teaser trailer showcased by Nintendo during the Switch 2 Direct event. The snippet was concise, featuring a familiar section of gameplay first seen in the game’s announcement trailer back in 2019, making it easy to miss if you weren’t paying close attention.

Given the history of Silksong, it’s prudent not to take the release date at face value until the game is officially in players’ hands. Recall that in 2022, speculation emerged suggesting the game would be available by June 12, 2023, after it was included in a Xbox Game Pass trailer, with Microsoft indicating all titles featured would be released within a 12-month window. However, June 12, 2023, passed without the release of Silksong, leaving fans waiting once again.
