The Severance season two finale has arrived, and it’s absolutely epic in every way. Not only is it approximately 75 minutes long, but it’s also packed with intense moments. On Friday, we’ll be sharing our standard recap, along with an in-depth, spoiler-filled interview with Severance’s head writer and showrunner, Dan Erickson. However, with so many plot twists in this finale, we wanted to provide a space for fans to discuss it immediately. So, here it is.

We’ll be discussing some spoilers below, and we encourage you to do the same in the comments. Be sure to check back on Friday morning for our detailed recap, which will break down every notable moment, as well as the interview.

Since I’ve already spent a significant amount of time working on the recap, I’ll keep my thoughts brief here. However, there are a few key moments that stand out for discussion.

One of the most striking scenes was the conversation between the two Marks. It was a great way to handle that plot point. Additionally, did Harmony Cobel finally explain Macrodata refining and Cold Harbor to Mark? Yes, she did, providing some long-awaited answers.

Moving forward, I hope Apple releases prints of the new painting on the severed floor, as it’s both horrifying and awe-inspiring. Similarly, Jame Eagan’s character can be described with the same words.

The Dylan scene was fantastic, despite being sad due to its implications. It was great to have him back, and the scene played out as well as could be expected, given the circumstances.

Other notable moments include Mark completing Cold Harbor while being watched by a creepy Kier statue, a roast battle, the revelation of Lumon’s severed department as a marching band, and the answer to the mystery of the goats. Yes, we finally got our answer.

The episode also featured some brutally violent action scenes, the full reveal of Cold Harbor’s impact on Gemma, and the devastating final moments where Mark is torn between his “innie” and “outie” in the forms of Helly and Gemma. The choice he made was noble but potentially too optimistic and short-sighted.

These are all topics for discussion below, and we’ll have much more to say in the coming days.
