The collaboration between Samsung and Google has led to numerous advancements, not only for Galaxy devices, but also for the broader Android phone market. A notable example is the Nearby Share feature, which has been integrated into Samsung’s Quick Share. According to recent reports, Samsung is planning to introduce its own Quick Share app, specifically designed for its Galaxy Books.

At present, Google’s Quick Share is compatible with all Windows PCs, including those from Samsung, such as the Galaxy Books. However, Google has confirmed that Samsung intends to develop its own version of Quick Share, tailored to its PCs.

Samsung already supports Quick Share across its entire Galaxy ecosystem, but the company is now taking steps to differentiate its Quick Share app from Google’s, particularly for Windows PCs. This move will enable Samsung to create a distinct app for its Galaxy Books, similar to the one currently available on its Galaxy phones.

Consequently, this development will allow Samsung to organize a separate app for its Galaxy Books, mirroring the experience on its Galaxy phones.

Meanwhile, Google has announced that it will be rebranding Quick Share from Google to simply Quick Share, adding support for compatibility with Samsung’s Quick Share app. Additionally, Google has confirmed that support for its Quick Share on Samsung Galaxy Books will cease on May 28, 2025. After this date, users will be redirected to install the Quick Share app from Samsung when attempting to use Google’s Quick Share on Samsung PCs.
