Samsung stands out as the top performer among Android partners in the smartphone industry when it comes to providing timely software updates to its Galaxy ecosystem. Meanwhile, as part of the ongoing April 2025 security update rollout, Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra devices have begun receiving the update.

Despite Samsung ending major OS support for these devices, the Note 20 series remains eligible for relevant security patches. As a result, the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra models are now receiving the latest April security patch, with the update currently expanding to users in the US.

The firmware for the Verizon carrier-locked Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra has been assigned the build numbers N981USQSCHYD1 and N986USQSCHYD1, respectively.

This security patch does not introduce new features or changes but rather focuses on addressing security vulnerabilities present in the previous version. It prioritizes enhancing the device’s overall security and core functionality, ultimately providing a more secure user experience while protecting against potential threats.
