Samsung, which recently made waves at the Developer Conference with significant Bixby upgrades, is now expanding the capabilities of its Bixby service on AI TVs.

The South Korean tech giant is actively enhancing Bixby to improve user experiences. A recently shared video clip highlights several convenient upgrades that will be available on its AI TVs, showcasing the company’s efforts to make Bixby more advanced.

The latest version of Bixby boasts notable improvements compared to its predecessor, including enhanced context understanding, more efficient handling of vague search queries, and the ability to process multiple commands simultaneously.

A teaser video demonstrates Bixby’s capabilities, where a user asks, “What is the capital of Vietnam?” and Bixby responds correctly with “Hanoi.” When the user follows up with “How’s the weather there?” without specifying the location, Bixby understands the context and provides the weather report for Hanoi, showcasing its ability to maintain a conversation flow.

Although this may not be a revolutionary upgrade, it makes interactions feel more natural and intuitive. Another teaser highlights Bixby’s improved search capabilities, which can now find content based on a rough description rather than requiring an exact title. For instance, when a user asks to “Find me an animation of a person riding a bike,” Bixby quickly pulls up relevant results, including 90RPM, along with other suggestions.

If this feature works seamlessly in real-life scenarios, it will make finding content significantly easier, especially when trying to recall a specific title or name. Additionally, Samsung’s multi-action command option allows Bixby to understand and execute combined instructions without confusion.

Currently, these upgraded Bixby features are not available on Samsung’s 2024 85-inch QLED 4K TV, and there is no official release date announced. It remains to be seen whether these new features will function as smoothly as the teasers suggest.
