Samsung has achieved a new notable certification, ‘Carbon Reduction’, for its Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED TVs, marking the fifth consecutive year it has received this recognition.

According to an announcement on the company’s official page, over 80 models of Samsung Electronics’ 2025 Neo QLED, OLED, and The Frame have obtained ‘Product Carbon Footprint’ and ‘Product Carbon Reduction’ certifications from the German organization ‘TÜV Rheinland’.

The Carbon Reduction certification is a verification process that assesses the effectiveness of projects aimed at reducing or offsetting greenhouse gas emissions, ensuring the environmental integrity of these projects. The aforementioned products received the certifications based on their reduced environmental impact.

TÜV Rheinland measures the greenhouse gas emissions of TV products throughout their entire life cycle, from manufacturing to disposal, based on international standards, and grants ‘carbon footprint’ certification accordingly.

Samsung Electronics has consistently expanded its carbon reduction certification for its displays, starting with Neo QLED 4K TVs in 2021 and extending to a wide range of products, including LED, Crystal UHD, Lifestyle TV, OLED, monitors, and signage.

Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, Taeyong Son, stated, “Samsung Electronics is committed to achieving carbon neutrality for a sustainable future through technological innovation. As the leading company in the global TV market, we will continue to take the lead in building an eco-friendly ecosystem by managing greenhouse gas emissions generated from the manufacturing to disposal of TV products.”
