Now, recent reports reveal that Samsung has some plans under the hood, as the company conducted a Samsung Health forum in San Jose where it concisely unveiled its plans about the ongoing work of integrating an all-new, noninvasive, optically based, continuous glucose monitor mechanism into the Galaxy smartwatches. The work is still in progress, and if the mechanism actually worked out as expected, then it will be a game-changer.
The Impact on Diabetes Management
Substantially, there is a wide population of people suffering from diabetes, and they need to continuously track their blood sugar level. Currently, they still use the old fingerstick blood drawing, and testing strips lead to more exposure to needles and blood; this could apparently change if Samsung’s wearables manage to continuously monitor blood glucose by connecting them with phones over Bluetooth.

With this being the case, Samsung may become a leading company with this newest sensor technology. Alternatively, with the actual release time being unknown, it’s expected that Samsung could probably bring the new mechanism by the time of the Galaxy Watch 8 launch, eliminating its biggest rival, Apple, from the field.
