Google Meet Not Working Properly on Samsung Galaxy S25? You’re Not Alone

Last month, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 series at the Unpacked event, and the company started the pre-order program and shipping the smartphone in the US. However, a few Galaxy S25 Ultra users are experiencing problems with Google Meet.

Regarding this issue, a user reported that the Galaxy S25’s camera wasn’t working on Google Meet, displaying a green camera icon on the top-right corner of the screen. This indicates that the camera is functioning correctly, but the video feed shows a black screen. Another user shared his problem on Google Meet Help, stating that there was no video on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, despite all settings seeming fine.
A Widespread Issue
More users are reporting the same issue, which suggests that it’s a widespread problem. Potentially, the issue could be with Google Meet itself, as the application is transitioning from Legacy Calling to the newer implementation. The Galaxy devices in the US have preloaded Google Meet, and the app is optimized for Galaxy devices. However, it remains unclear exactly what is causing the issue.
Fixing the Issue
If you’re facing the Google Meet issue on your Galaxy S25, you can try fixing it by following these easy steps:
- Long-press the Google Meet icon.
- Tap on the (i) button and scroll down to the Storage.
- Click on the Clear cache, then choose Clear data.
- Relaunch the Google Meet app.
In most cases, these steps fix the issue. However, if it doesn’t work, you can also try reinstalling the app. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will take quick action against this issue and release a fix.
