Samsung Galaxy S25+ Teardown Video Reveals Easier Repair
Samsung has released a teardown video for its latest Galaxy S25+ flagship series, showcasing positive results for easier repair. The video, published by PBKReviews, highlights the improvements made to the device’s design, making it more accessible for users to repair and maintain their phone.
Galaxy S25+ Launched with Improved Repairability
A few days ago, Samsung launched its latest Galaxy S25 flagship series, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Each variant has its dedicated fan base and unique identities. Among these three, the Plus variant appears slightly easier to repair.
Positive Results from the Teardown Video
The newly launched Galaxy S25+ is rated as slightly more repairable than its predecessor, the Galaxy S24+. The teardown video reveals that Samsung has upgraded its techniques with the new Galaxy device, making it easier to access the internal components.
Improved Battery Pull Pouch and Adhesive Removal
The teardown video shows that Samsung has improved the battery pull pouch, making it easier to remove the battery. Additionally, the adhesive used on the back glass has been loosened, allowing for a simpler removal process.
Accessing Internal Components
To access the internal components of the phone, the SIM tray is detached, and heat is applied to the back glass to loosen the adhesive. A suction cup and pry tool are then used to detach the back panel. To remove the camera lens covers and rings, further heat is applied to them. After crossing all of these steps and removing a total of 21 screws, the Qi wireless charging coil and the battery can be accessed.
Easy Access to Main Board and Sub-Board
Samsung placed three ribbon cables that connect the main board to the sub-board beneath the wireless charging coil cover. The process showcased the result that the Galaxy S25 Plus’ internal components are easily accessed by removing the back plate and the battery, with pull tabs, which are easily removed.
Accessibility of Main Board and Sub-Board
The main board, housing the camera lenses, flashlight, microphones, and processor, is accessible after detaching the earpiece assembly, and the sub-board with the USB-C port, SIM slot, and microphone is also removable, which helps the device to make it easier to repair.
