Following the introduction of its AI-powered smartphones, Samsung is now poised to revolutionize the XR device market with its upcoming Android XR device. The company initially unveiled a prototype last year and has since showcased it at the Galaxy Unpacked and MWC events. According to recent reports, Samsung has begun developing motion-controller devices for its XR headset.Samsung XR Device to Feature First-Party Motion Controllers

The South Korean tech giant has started working on creating its own motion controllers, which will be compatible with the XR headset. A recent report revealed that the model number ET-OI610 is associated with the development of these controllers.These controllers are expected to come with wireless connectivity and motion sensors, allowing them to compete with other controllers available in the market. Additionally, the XR headset will also support accessibility features through finger and hand gestures.Currently, the XR headset is in development, and Samsung has not announced a commercial name for the product. Although there is no official launch date confirmed, rumors suggest that Samsung may unveil the XR headset at the next Galaxy Unpacked event, which is expected to take place in the early second half of 2025. This event will also feature the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.In terms of specifications, the XR headset is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR series chipset and run on Android XR. It will feature a dozen cameras and sensors, along with high-quality displays.
