It can be distressing to discover that your personal details have been posted online by others. Google’s revamped Results about you tool is designed to safeguard your privacy by identifying search results that contain sensitive information such as your phone number or address, and facilitating their swift removal. The new hub streamlines the sign-up process, and with its proactive monitoring feature, it undertakes the tedious work for you, notifying you if any new results are detected.

Moreover, requesting removals directly from Search has become more straightforward. When you click on the three dots adjacent to a result, an updated menu appears, providing clarity on the type of content that is eligible for removal and enabling you to submit a removal request with fewer clicks.

In certain instances, you may want to update an outdated search result – for example, if you have had content about yourself removed or edited from a webpage, but Search has not yet reflected these changes in its results. Now, you can simply click on the three dots, request a refresh, and our systems will recrawl the page to obtain the latest information, ensuring that your search results remain up-to-date.
