New Tools to Enhance User Engagement on Reddit
The popular social media platform Reddit has introduced several new features aimed at encouraging more users to participate in discussions on the site. One such feature, called Rules Check, is designed to help users ensure their posts comply with subreddit rules. By clicking the wand icon in the lower right-hand corner of the post composer, users can identify potential rule violations before submitting their post. This feature will initially be tested on iOS and Android devices before being rolled out more widely.
Another feature, Post Recovery, will notify users if their post has been removed due to community rules and provide a link to share the deleted post in a more suitable subreddit. To help users find the right community for their posts, Reddit will now suggest relevant subreddits based on the content of their post through a drop-down menu on the composer screen. Additionally, users will be informed if a community has specific requirements, such as account age or minimum karma points, before they can post.
The third feature, Post Insights, is particularly useful for users who promote products and services on Reddit. It provides users with metrics on post engagement, including views, upvotes, shares, and crossposts, helping them understand what works best for their content. All features, except Rules Check, are now available on the Reddit website and mobile app.
