Exciting news has arrived for fans of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: the show has been officially renewed for a third season.

Disney made the announcement on Friday, ahead of the show’s second season, which has recently completed production. In a statement, Ayo Davis, president of branded TV, expressed that the studio recognized the show’s potential from its premiere, stating that “this series had struck a chord with fans of all ages. […] Huge thanks to our incredible cast and creative team, our partners at 20th Television, and our visionary and talented producers who continue to bring Rick Riordan’s world to life with such depth and imagination.”

Rick Riordan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue the story of Percy Jackson, noting that the third season, which will be based on the 2007 book “The Titan’s Curse,” will explore “new territory” since the live-action movies only adapted the first two books. He also hinted at bringing fan-favorite characters like “the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life for the first time. This commitment from Disney is a huge sign of the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show. Thank you, demigods worldwide!”

Season two of Percy Jackson is expected to premiere on Disney+ this December.
