Introduction to Patapon 1 + 2 Replay

A pair of cult classics from Sony’s PlayStation Portable library, namely Patapon and Patapon 2, are set to release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC. This announcement was made during the Nintendo Direct showcase in March. Bandai Namco revealed Patapon 1 + 2 Replay, a package that includes remastered versions of the 2007 and 2008 games.

Game Overview

The original games were developed by Pyramid and Sony Japan Studio, which closed down in 2021. These games uniquely combine elements of strategy and rhythm games, requiring players to guide a tribe of anthropomorphic eyeballs to victory through drum beats. The Patapon series was well-received upon its initial release and contributed to the PSP’s library of offbeat yet enjoyable games.
