According to a report by The Information, OpenAI is considering charging a monthly fee of up to $20,000 for its specialized AI “agents” as stated by The Information.
The publication states that OpenAI plans to introduce multiple “agent” products, each designed for specific applications such as sorting and ranking sales leads and software engineering. The prices for these agents will vary, with a “high-income knowledge worker” agent reportedly costing $2,000 per month, and a software developer agent priced at $10,000 per month.
The most expensive agent, which will be priced at $20,000 per month, is said to be designed to support “PhD-level research”, as reported by The Information.
The launch date and eligibility criteria for these agents are unclear, but The Information notes that SoftBank, an investor in OpenAI, has committed to spending $3 billion on OpenAI’s agent products this year.
The revenue generated from these agents will be crucial for OpenAI, as the company reportedly incurred a loss of approximately $5 billion last year due to costs associated with running its services and other expenses, as reported.
