Introduction to Ooni’s New Pizza Ovens

Last spring, Ooni made a significant debut with the dual-zone Koda 2 Max outdoor oven, capable of cooking a variety of dishes, including pizzas up to 20 inches in diameter. Following this success, the company is now expanding its gas-powered Koda line with the introduction of the Koda 2 and Koda 2 Pro. These new models incorporate Ooni’s latest burner technology, enhanced heat efficiency, a more resilient stone, and compatibility with the Ooni Connect Digital Temperature Hub.

Features of the Koda 2 Pro

The Koda 2 Pro is positioned as the midrange option within Ooni’s revamped gas-burning lineup. It boasts a 30% larger capacity than the Koda 16, allowing for pizzas up to 18 inches. This oven offers a broad temperature range of 320-950 degrees Fahrenheit, enabling users to sear, roast, and bake in addition to achieving the high temperatures needed for cooking pizzas. The Koda 2 Pro is equipped with twin gas burners featuring Ooni’s G2 technology, which provides improved heat distribution thanks to a powerful tapered flame.

Cooking Experience and Smart Features

While cooking, the Koda 2 Pro’s glass visor helps retain heat inside the oven while offering a clear view of the cooking process. The Ooni Connect Digital Temperature Hub provides a clearly visible display on the front of the oven and comes with food probes to monitor the internal temperature of meats and fish. This hub also features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing it to send temperature updates to the user’s phone. Session logs are stored in the Ooni app, which includes recipes, tips, and other useful information to enhance the cooking experience.

Introducing the Koda 2

The Koda 2 is the smallest and most portable option in Ooni’s overhauled gas-only line, weighing only 33 pounds. This makes it ideal for camping, tailgates, and outdoor cookouts. Despite its compact size, the Koda 2 can reach temperatures of up to 950 degrees Fahrenheit, enabling the cooking of professional-level pizzas in about a minute. It features the newest G2 burners for maximum efficiency and has a 14-inch cooking area, which is larger than its predecessor, the Koda 12. The Koda 2 is compatible with the Ooni Connect smart hub, although this accessory is available for an additional $99.

Availability and Pricing

The Koda 2 is available for purchase immediately at a price of $449, while the Koda 2 Pro will be available starting May 1 for $749. These prices represent a $150 increase over the existing Koda 12 and Koda 16 models. Notably, for the first time, Ooni ovens will be offered in a color option other than the company’s signature Foundry Black; a Slate Blue option will also be available for these new models.

Purchase Options

For those interested in purchasing the Ooni Koda 2 or Koda 2 Pro, both models can be found on the Ooni website and other retail platforms. The Koda 2 Pro is available for $749, and the Koda 2 can be purchased for $449. These prices include the oven itself, with the Ooni Connect Digital Temperature Hub available as an additional accessory for the Koda 2.
