Samsung has not yet rolled out the stable Android 15 (One UI 7) update to its older Galaxy devices. In contrast, Android 16 is already in its Beta 2 phase, which includes a useful battery health feature that Samsung might incorporate into One UI 8.

Initially, Samsung released the stable Android 15-based One UI 7 update for its latest flagship Galaxy S25 series and recently expanded it to the newly launched budget-friendly Galaxy F06 smartphone. However, the update has not been made available for older Galaxy devices.

Meanwhile, Google has initiated the Android 16 beta program and has released two beta updates. The latest Android 16 Beta 2 update includes a Battery Health menu with a revamped UI, which was different from the initially leaked pages.

According to reports, the revamped UI features two main dropdown menus: a battery capacity menu and a dropdown menu for “battery health articles.” The battery capacity figure indicates the long-term health of the battery, which decreases over time as the phone undergoes more charging cycles.

The new battery menu appears to be convenient, as it displays the current capacity of the battery, reflecting its long-term health decline, and also provides access to articles about battery health. For example, the Pixel 8a and later models are rated for 1,000 charging cycles before they reach 80% capacity. This suggests that a Pixel 9 Pro XL, with its 5,060mAh battery, would logically have a 4,000mAh battery after 1,000 cycles. Additionally, a new charging optimizations setting has appeared, which is placed alongside the current charging optimization feature.

It is expected that Samsung may adopt this new and convenient battery health feature with the release of One UI 8, which will be based on Android 16. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this report, so it remains to be seen whether the company will incorporate this feature.
