## Expected Announcements at GTC
Nvidia typically uses a significant portion of the conference to unveil new GPU-related products. A new iteration of the company’s Blackwell chip lineup seems likely to be announced.
During Nvidia’s most recent earnings call, Huang confirmed that the upcoming Blackwell B300 series, codenamed Blackwell Ultra, is scheduled for release in the second half of this year. In addition to higher computing performance, Blackwell Ultra cards will feature more memory (288GB), a desirable attribute for customers running and training memory-intensive AI models.
Rubin, Nvidia’s next-generation GPU series, is almost certain to be mentioned at GTC alongside Blackwell Ultra. Due out in 2026, Rubin promises to deliver what Huang has described as a significant increase in computing power.
Huang stated during the aforementioned Nvidia earnings call that he would discuss post-Rubin products at GTC, potentially including Rubin Ultra GPUs or the GPU architecture that will follow the Rubin family. The chips are named after Vera Rubin, the astronomer who discovered dark matter.

Beyond GPUs, Nvidia may shed light on its approach to recent quantum computing advancements. The company has scheduled a “quantum day” for GTC, where it will host executives from prominent companies in the field to map the path toward practical quantum applications.
## Nvidia’s Current Situation
One thing is certain: Nvidia could benefit from a win. Early Blackwell cards reportedly suffered from severe overheating issues, causing customers to reduce their orders. U.S. export controls and fears of tariffs have significantly depressed Nvidia’s stock price in recent months. Meanwhile, the success of Chinese AI lab DeepSeek has prompted investors to worry about the demand for powerful GPUs like Blackwell.
Huang has asserted that DeepSeek’s rise to prominence will actually be a net positive for Nvidia, as it will accelerate the broader adoption of AI technology. He has also pointed to the growth of power-hungry “reasoning” models like OpenAI’s o1 as Nvidia’s next challenge to overcome.
While Nvidia isn’t struggling, the company reported a record-breaking quarter in February with $39.3 billion in revenue and projected $43 billion in revenue for the subsequent quarter. Although rivals like AMD have begun to encroach on Nvidia’s territory, the company still commands an estimated 82% of the GPU market. However, Huang is reportedly feeling impatient to see AI applications that have a significant impact beyond the tech industry.
