NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference, also referred to as GTC, is approaching. The event will take place from March 17-21 in San Jose, and Engadget will provide comprehensive coverage of all major developments. A liveblog of the keynote address by CEO Jensen Huang on March 18 at 1PM ET (or 10AM PT) will be available, which is expected to feature significant announcements. Additionally, the speech will be livestreamed for free on NVIDIA’s website.

Based on a review of the session catalog on NVIDIA’s website, several informed predictions can be made. The topics covered will include quantum computing, “physical AI,” robotics, healthcare, and Agentic AI. Notably, CEO Jensen Huang will lead a discussion on quantum computing with participants from companies such as Microsoft and Amazon.

It is likely that artificial intelligence will be a central theme throughout the week. However, given the significant changes in the computing landscape over the past year, the stakes are higher for NVIDIA to make a substantial impact at this conference.

NVIDIA has been heavily invested in AI for years, making it a consistent highlight of GTC programming. Last year, the company unveiled its Blackwell line of GPUs for faster and more efficient computations. It is anticipated that Huang will introduce an updated iteration of Blackwell GPUs with enhanced specifications. Additionally, NVIDIA is likely to provide updates on its projects in automotive, robotics, and quantum computing.

However, the company’s situation has changed significantly since last year’s conference. NVIDIA is no longer in a position of dominance. The emergence of DeepSeek’s reasoning model led to a plunge for tech stocks, including NVIDIA’s, earlier this year. The company has faced issues with its latest RTX product launches, and the use of AI-generated NPCs in gaming has been pretty soulless.

Essentially, NVIDIA needs a significant success. This would be an ideal time for Huang to announce something groundbreaking and exciting. Hopefully, he will deliver.
