We hope you’ve been keeping up with the latest anime series on Netflix, as the streaming platform has a plethora of new content slated for release this year. With AnimeJapan taking place this weekend, Netflix has lifted the veil on its upcoming spring and summer lineup, featuring a mix of returning favorites and brand-new titles. Let’s dive in and explore what’s in store.

Devil May Cry

Studio Mir’s adaptation of the popular Capcom franchise is set to premiere in just a few weeks, and Netflix has revealed additional details about the voice cast. For the show’s Japanese dub, the roles of Dante, Lady, and Vergil will be voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa, Fumiko Orikasa, and Hiroaki Hirata, respectively – the same talented actors from the games. Furthermore, the renowned rock band Evanescence is collaborating on a song for the series, which will undoubtedly amplify the show’s excitement when it premieres on April 3. Sakamoto Days

The Sakamoto Days anime series, which began airing in January, has just concluded its first half. The second half is slated to commence in July, introducing Gaku, a pivotal member of X’s organization, voiced by Koki Uchiyama in the Japanese dub. As of now, there’s no official word on whether the anime will be renewed for a second season.

Moonrise

Netflix has been promoting Moonrise in recent weeks, ahead of its release on April 10. Developed by WIT Studio (Spy x Family) with character designs by Fullmetal Alchemist’s Hiromu Arakawa and written by Tow Ubukata (Fafner in the Azure), Moonrise is set in a near-future world where an AI called Sapienta has created a program that sends Earth’s criminals to the Moon, transforming it into a warzone and a hub for a rebel army. After losing his family to a terrorist attack, Jacob Shadow joins Earth’s army to scout the Moon and bring down the resistance leader.

The Summer Hikaru Died

Based on Mokumokuren’s horror manga of the same name, the anime series revolves around high schooler Yoshiki, who senses that something is amiss with his friend Hikaru. Following Hikaru’s disappearance six months ago during a mountain trip, he has changed in some inexplicable way, and Yoshiki must navigate this new reality, particularly as supernatural events begin to unfold around them. The Summer Hikaru Died is expected to hit Netflix this summer.

One Piece

If you’ve been following One Piece on Netflix, you won’t have to wait long to stay up-to-date. The second part of the Egghead arc will commence on April 12, with new episodes airing weekly thereafter. Viewers on Crunchyroll are already aware that the show will return the week prior, with a recap of “Egghead Part I” and the first new episode since the series’ hiatus on April 5, followed by another episode on April 6, and subsequent episodes every week.
