Get ready, fans of My Hero Academia: the final season is slated to premiere in October.

This announcement was made during AnimeJapan in Tokyo over the weekend, where Toho unveiled a teaser trailer revealing the release month for season eight. The teaser features Deku and Tomura Shigaraki, the series’ main hero and villain, respectively, sharing narration about their objectives and whose story this has been all along. Deku and the hero community have been at war with Shigaraki, All for One, and their cohorts, and the previous season concluded with significant developments on both sides, including the loss or incapacitation of several key players in the conflict.

The My Hero Academia manga came to an end in 2024 after 430 chapters and an epilogue in December. Since completing the series, creator Kohei Horikoshi has not announced any new projects, but he has created various artwork featuring the characters over the past year.

Before the main anime series concludes, fans can look forward to the upcoming spinoff, Vigilantes. Set five years prior to Deku’s story, the show follows non-licensed heroes as they protect their city and intersect with younger versions of supporting characters like Mirko and Eraserhead. The spinoff is scheduled to premiere on April 7, ensuring that My Hero enthusiasts will have plenty of content to enjoy throughout 2025.
