MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has initiated a lawsuit against a former employee for allegedly breaching their contract and stealing company secrets while working at Beast Industries. According to the complaint, which was first reported by Polygon, the former contractor, Leroy Nabors, is accused of installing hidden cameras throughout the company’s offices, among other allegations. The lawsuit can be found on Scribd.

Nabors was initially hired as an IT contractor in 2023 to work on the Beast Industries IT network, including servers containing post-production content. He later subcontracted some tasks to Vine Networks, a company managed by his daughter. Following a successful stint, Nabors was promoted to a “special projects” team as a full-time employee, where he worked on content production, fundraising, and political advocacy until his termination on October 1, 2024.

After Nabors’ termination, Beast Industries discovered that he had allegedly downloaded over 1,000 confidential files from the company’s Google Vault, including highly sensitive documents containing business strategies, financial information, and employee personal data. This incident occurred on September 23, 2024, just over a week before his termination, reportedly because Nabors sensed his firing was imminent.

Furthermore, upon Nabors’ departure, Beast Industries personnel found hidden cameras installed around the office, which the complaint alleges were installed and operated by Nabors. It is noted that Nabors was known among colleagues for surreptitiously recording meetings.

Nabors and his daughter have a history of controversy, including a 2022 lawsuit alleging that he diverted millions of dollars in revenue from Edu-Net, an IT company he founded, to HSC Solutions, a competing company run by his daughter.

Recently, the MrBeast universe has been involved in several lawsuits. In 2023, Donaldson and his company were sued by former contestants on his Amazon show Beast Games for sexual harassment and mistreatment. Additionally, a former employee published a video in 2024 calling Donaldson a “sociopath,” prompting him to hire a lawyer and file a cease-and-desist order.
