Microsoft has given a sneak peek of a new Surface Copilot+ PC, which is set to be unveiled on May 6th, as announced on X. The company’s post simply states, “Something new is coming… find out next week.” This unveiling will take place nearly two weeks before Microsoft’s Build 2025 developer conference, marking a departure from last year’s schedule when the company launched two new Surface Copilot+ PCs on the eve of Build 2024.

Rumors suggest that Microsoft is developing a smaller 11- or 12-inch Surface Pro to directly compete with Apple’s 11-inch iPad Pro. Additionally, there are speculations about a Surface laptop that could be equipped with a Snapdragon X processor. Earlier this year, Microsoft unveiled the new Intel-equipped Surface Pro (11th Edition) and Surface Laptop (7th Edition) for Business.

The details of the announcement, including whether it will be an event or a press release, remain unclear. This also raises questions about what hardware, if any, Microsoft plans to announce at Build 2025, which begins on May 19 and is expected to have a strong focus on AI.
