According to sources cited by Reuters, The Bot Company, a robotics startup established by Kyle Vogt, the former co-founder and CEO of Cruise, has secured $150 million in funding led by Greenoaks.

Kyle Vogt founded the startup in collaboration with Paril Jain, who previously led the AI tech team at Tesla, and Luke Holoubek, a former software engineer at Cruise. Vogt has not responded to requests for comment.

This latest funding round comes less than a year after the launch of The Bot Company, which aims to produce a robot designed for household chores. The company was launched in May with initial funding of $150 million from investors including former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman, Pioneer founder Daniel Gross, Spark Capital’s Nabeel Hyatt, Stripe CEO Patrick Collison, Stripe co-founder John Collison, and Quiet Capital.

The launch of The Bot Company occurred approximately five months after Vogt’s resignation as CEO of Cruise, the autonomous vehicle startup he founded in 2013, which was later acquired by General Motors. Vogt’s resignation followed an incident on October 2 where a Cruise vehicle was involved in an accident with a pedestrian, who had initially been hit by a human-driven car and was then dragged 20 feet.
