On a monthly basis, over 20 billion visual searches are conducted using Google Lens. We are now introducing two significant updates to Lens, which will make it even more convenient to search for what you see, across a wider range of apps and devices.

Initially, for iPhone users, a new Lens feature will be available, allowing you to select and search screen content within Chrome or the Google app, utilizing natural gestures such as drawing, highlighting, or tapping. This feature enables you to perform a quick visual search while browsing, whether reading an article, shopping for a product, or watching a video, all without needing to capture a screenshot or open a new tab.

To begin using this feature in Chrome, simply open the three-dot menu and choose “Search Screen with Google Lens.” In the upcoming months, a new Lens icon will also appear in the address bar, providing access to the same feature, similar to the Lens experience for Chrome desktop that was launched last summer.
