Lip-Bu Tan, Intel’s newly appointed CEO, appears to be taking swift action to revitalize the struggling technology firm.

According to recent reports, the new executive at the helm of the semiconductor giant is contemplating comprehensive reforms to Intel’s chip manufacturing and artificial intelligence strategies. These reforms may include streamlining middle management and reevaluating the company’s approach to chip production. As reported, Tan has informed employees that he will need to make some difficult choices to restore the company’s trajectory.

The announcement of Tan as Intel’s new CEO was made last week. He is set to rejoin the company on Tuesday, following his departure from Intel’s board in August 2024 due to disagreements with the company’s former CEO, Pat Gelsinger.

When asked for comment, Intel declined to respond.
