Celebrating a New Water Infrastructure Project in The Dalles, Oregon

We are excited to announce the completion of a new aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) system in partnership with the City of The Dalles, Oregon. This innovative project will significantly enhance the city’s water capacity for generations to come.

Our Investment in Oregon

This initiative is part of our substantial investment in Oregon, where we operate data centers that provide AI-powered technologies, including Cloud, Maps, Workspace, and YouTube, to individuals and businesses worldwide.

How the! ASR System Works

The ASR system functions similarly to a savings account, capturing and storing excess water during the rainy season that would otherwise be lost as runoff. This stored water can then be utilized during drier months, helping to protect The Dalles against drought.

A Lasting Contribution to the Community

We have transferred ownership of the ASR system and its associated groundwater rights to the city on a permanent basis. By making this valuable resource available for public benefit, we have provided the community with an additional 100 million gallons of water annually, ensuring a more sustainable future for The Dalles.
