Google has unveiled the pricing details of its Veo 2 model, which was announced recently. According to its pricing page, the cost of using Veo 2 is 50 cents per second of footage.

Currently, Veo 2 is limited to generating two-minute clips in up to 4K resolution, which is a significant improvement over the 20-second, 1080p clips produced by ChatGPT’s Sora model. However, comparing the pricing of the two models is challenging due to their different approaches, as Sora operates on a subscription-based model. The ChatGPT Pro plan, which costs $200, allows users to generate 500 videos per month, while the Plus plan limits users to 50 videos and reduces the maximum quality and length to 720p and five seconds, respectively. In contrast, Veo 2 users pay on a per-use basis.

While big-budget feature films have significantly higher production costs than Veo 2’s per-second pricing, the model is not intended to compete with such productions.
