Laura Mae Martin, a renowned productivity expert and bestselling author of “Uptime”, shares her insights in her productivity advice column on how individuals can boost their productivity at work and in their daily lives. Recently, she addressed the issue of overcoming procrastination and provided the following three valuable tips:
- Organize your workload by designating specific themes to particular days. For instance, designate Tuesdays and Thursdays as “Sales Call Days” and focus on sales-related tasks, meetings, and emails.
- Treat yourself like your own personal assistant by preparing for your future tasks. If you have a presentation scheduled for the next day, set the stage today by creating a new set of slides and preparing the title slide.
- Allocate a specific time slot for your tasks to minimize procrastination. If you estimate a task will take 20 minutes, utilize a 30-minute window before your next meeting to complete it.
