Google Wallet has introduced a new feature that enables parents and guardians in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, and Poland to allow their children to utilize digital payments on their Android devices with suitable supervision. Over the next few weeks, this feature will be rolled out, allowing kids to use Google Wallet to securely make tap-to-pay purchases in stores and store supported passes, such as event tickets, library cards, and gift cards, in a single convenient location.

The safety and security of Google Wallet are of utmost importance, and this update provides parents with tools to manage their child’s Wallet experience. A child’s payment cards can only be added to their account with parental consent, and parents will receive email notifications whenever their child makes a transaction. Furthermore, parents can easily monitor recent purchases, remove payment cards, and disable access to passes directly within the Family Link platform.
